Motherhood is not something to Perform.
Motherhood is not something to Perform.
Private ceremonies, meaningful rituals & guided experiences by Caridad Saenz
Pregnancy and birth are not only physical journeys. They can awaken memories, beliefs, fears, desires and parts of ourselves we may not have visited in years.
We arrive at motherhood carrying so much more than a baby.
We carry the stories of the women who came before us. The ways we were loved, the things we learned to believe about ourselves, the expectations we have inherited, and sometimes the experiences we are ready to understand differently.
And somewhere along the way, we may begin to ask ourselves:
What do I want to carry forward? What am I ready to lay down? What kind of mother do I wish to become? And who am I, beyond the roles I have always known?
Rituals of Becoming was created to make space for these questions.
Rooted in my Birth Guardian philosophy, these private ceremonies and guided experiences are invitations to slow down, reflect, connect and honour the transitions unfolding within us.
Some explore generational wisdom, inherited beliefs and the stories we carry. Others create space for symbolic release, intention, surrender, partnership and the changing identity of motherhood.
There are experiences for women who want to reconnect with themselves before birth, couples preparing to become parents, mothers navigating another pregnancy, and women seeking to honour and integrate what they have experienced after birth.
Some ceremonies are quiet and deeply personal. Others invite a partner, mother, grandmother or chosen family to participate.
They may include storytelling, guided reflection, meditation, breathwork, water rituals, meaningful objects, written intentions or simple acts of connection.
There is no particular way you are expected to feel. No belief system you need to follow. No version of yourself you need to become before you arrive.
These experiences are not about fixing what is broken, releasing everything difficult, or creating the perfect birth.
They are about recognising what has shaped us, choosing what still serves us, and allowing ourselves to be supported as we move through change.
I believe there is something deeply meaningful about giving our transitions a place, a moment and a ritual of their own.
Not because we need a ceremony to become mothers.
But because sometimes, in the midst of becoming, we deserve a moment to acknowledge the woman who is already here.
Each Ritual of Becoming can be experienced individually or woven into a more personal journey.
Together, we explore what feels meaningful to you, what you hope to honour, and whether there are people you wish to include.
There is no performance, no prescribed emotion and no expectation to share more than you wish.
Just a thoughtfully held space for your story, your choices and your becoming.
You do not need to arrive knowing exactly what you need. We can discover that together.
Explore the Rituals of Becoming, or reach out to create a private experience that honours where you are in your journey.
Birth is not something to be managed.
