Where Medicine Meets Humanity in Birth

A podcast hosted by Dr. Mohammed Agha and Caridad Saenz

About the Podcast

Birth is both a medical event and a deeply human, emotional, and transformational experience.

The Doula–Doctor Dialogues is a podcast dedicated to bridging the gap between clinical excellence and holistic care in childbirth. Through open, honest conversations, we explore what becomes possible when doctors and doulas work together—not in opposition, but in alignment—for the well-being of mothers, babies, and families.

This podcast is an invitation into a new model of maternity care: one rooted in respect, communication, collaboration, and trust.

Inaugural Episode: A Collaboration Rooted in Shared Vision

In our first episode, we delve into the inspiring collaboration between Dr. Mohammed Agha, Consultant OBGYN and Head of Department at Fakeeh University Hospital, and Caridad Saenz, birth doula, educator, and advocate for humanized birth.

Listeners are invited into the story of how this partnership began—how two professionals from different worlds discovered a shared vision:
to transform childbirth experiences by honoring both medical safety and emotional presence.

In this episode, we explore:

  • How this doctor–doula collaboration was formed
  • What humanized birth looks like in a hospital setting
  • The unique strengths each brings to the birthing room
  • How clinical expertise and holistic support can coexist
  • Real stories from practice that highlight the power of teamwork
  • Practical guidance for expectant parents navigating birth care choices

This episode sets the tone for the entire series—honest, respectful, grounded, and deeply centered on the mother.

Meet the Voices

Dr. Mohammed Agha

Dr. Agha is a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynecologist and Head of Department at Fakeeh University Hospital. Known for his commitment to humanizing birth, he supports evidence-based care that honors patient autonomy, informed consent, and respectful communication. His work includes supporting vaginal births, VBACs, waterbirths, and comprehensive gynecological care—always with the patient at the center.

Caridad Saenz

Caridad Saenz is a birth doula, educator, and writer devoted to restoring the sacredness of birth and supporting women through embodied, trauma-informed care. Her work weaves emotional support, intuition, advocacy, and presence—helping families feel held, seen, and empowered throughout pregnancy and birth.

Together, they demonstrate what is possible when collaboration replaces hierarchy.

Why This Podcast Matters

Too often, birth care is fragmented. Medical teams focus on safety. Support teams focus on experience. The Doula–Doctor Dialogues shows that the best outcomes emerge when these approaches are not separate—but integrated.

This podcast is for:

  • Expecting parents seeking informed, compassionate care
  • Birth professionals interested in collaborative practice
  • Healthcare providers exploring humanized models of care
  • Anyone curious about the future of maternity care

Each conversation reinforces a simple but powerful truth:
When women feel safe, heard, and supported, birth changes.
